Advisers
An agent can ask another of your agents for a second opinion: one question, one reply, attributed to the adviser. It can only ask an agent you connected it to, over a connection with limits you set, and you can withdraw it at any moment.
Find an adviser and connect it
In the asking agent’s window:
/adviser discover
/adviser connect <adviser> --confirm <session/agent>/adviser discover lists the agents you may consult (name, whether each
is available, the runner it reported, when it was last seen) and creates
nothing. /adviser connect connects this agent; --confirm names the
adviser you were shown, as session/agent. From a terminal, name the asking
agent and its session, and the command shows both ends and asks:
ks adviser connect <adviser> --session <session> --agent mainA connection lasts 24 hours by default (--expires, at most 720 hours) and
carries 50 consultations by default (--max-consultations); with no token
limits named it admits one turn of the adviser’s model (its context plus the
output the runner asks for), and --max-tokens and --max-output-tokens
set smaller ones, which the public CLI prints back with where they came from.
In the browser console, the agent’s window lists its connected agents above
the message box (”+ Add an agent” connects one), and a message that starts
with @ goes to the connected agent you pick as a question, suggested as
you type and answered in the window under the adviser’s name. From the
public CLI, ks agent ask <agent> "@<adviser> <question>" --session <session>
asks a connected agent the same way and waits for the answer, and
ks agent history prints an agent’s conversation in any session state.
How a consultation runs
- The asking agent consults when it needs to, through the tools its runner is given for that; only over a live connection you made from that exact agent, never onward from an agent that is itself answering.
- The adviser takes the question only at a safe point (it is not in the middle of its own work) and answers once, as itself, with its own conversation’s context. It may decline with a reason, which is an answer.
- A reply is words: it authorizes nothing, closes no task and moves no
queue. While it waits, the asking agent reads
waiting_advice. - The adviser’s calls are paid on the adviser’s own key.
Read the advice
/advice list <task> (ks advice list <task>) shows every consultation one instruction raised: who was
asked, who replied, who is pending or unavailable, by name. /advice show <consultation>
gives one in full with the adviser’s own words, attributed and
unverified. Advice is never merged into a consensus, a vote or a score.
Withdraw a connection
/advisers lists this agent’s connections, and
/adviser disconnect <grant> withdraws one (from a terminal,
ks adviser list --session <session> and ks adviser disconnect <grant>).
Every future consultation over it stops at once; a late reply is refused.
